“It remains to note, that Brettschneider has presented a very readable writing that is particularly convincing because of its balanced mixture of legal and economic scientific perspectives: These two, so far, barely touched analytical perspectives, are related to each other, and at least for the trained economist it seems that his subject could actually provide some benefit here. For the purely formal view of intra-party competition that has dominated constitutional law up to now could, in order to pick up Brettschneider’s terminology, urgently need an ‘extension in real science‘” (p.427).
